Music Ministry

Ministry: We are singers and musicians using our talents to help the parish community fully participate in and experience the liturgy.  As God's servants through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the OLPH Praise Team provides music to enhance our liturgies and deepen the spiritual experience of the community. Our mission is prayer, thanksgiving, and contemplation for the love of God. We provide an enriching spiritual experience through musical selections that both compliment the readings and the season. We believe that music moves people to see the Eucharist as alive and real as God has intended for us, His children. Thank you for joining with us in this ministry of music and helping in the building of God's Kingdom.

About us

What are the requirements to be a member?
First there is a one-on-one audition with the music director. Although music reading is a plus, lack of ability to read music should not hold you back.

For vocalist we look for:

• accurate pitch and
• ease of melody recognition

 

For instrumentalist we look for:

• skill of playing
• ability to read Chord Charts or Lead Sheets

You don't need to be a virtuoso musician, but because of the amount of music we play and the frequency of music turnover, a certain level of proficiency is required.

Computer Operators
